Install AppPlayer once. Open a place — a factory line, a counter, a shop, a room — and that place sends its own screen. Real controls, real content, live. Nothing to build or install per site.
Not a picture of an app. This is the app — the same runtime that renders every screen below.
Whatever gets published, it runs.
These are live screens, not mockups. Each one comes from a different place — and the list only grows, because anyone can publish one.

A record, still being madeNot a file you downloaded once. The artist keeps publishing into it — takes, notes, a show you were at.
Ch. 6 · The Mill41%
The wheel had not turned since the spring, and yet the whole building leaned toward the water as if it expected to be asked again. Sun-ho put his palm flat on the shaft and felt nothing move.
Author's note · added last monthThe mill is real. It is in Yangpyeong and it still leans. Photograph below is from the day I wrote this.
"It waits," said the miller's daughter, who was sixty-one and had waited longer.

And the one you haven't built yet.
Every place that publishes a screen adds itself to this list. There is no fixed set — the runtime doesn't know or care what comes next.
YoursSame runtime. No app store review, no install.
On a desk, with two monitors
And when the job is dense, it gets dense.
The same runtime that draws a kiosk button draws a control room. Hundreds of points, live trends, alarms with a name attached, and commands that go straight to the plant.

How it works
Three things happen. None of them are yours to maintain.
01A place publishes a screen
A shop, a machine, a clinic, a building. It describes what it can show and what it can do — once.
02AppPlayer opens it
Like typing an address, except what arrives is an interface — laid out for the screen it landed on.
03The buttons actually do things
Charge the card, start the batch, open the gate. Not a page about the thing — the thing.
Publish once. It shows up wherever someone is looking.
In a browser. In a chat. On the panel by the door. Inside an assistant that calls it on your behalf. Somewhere none of us have thought of yet — the list isn't fixed, and nothing has to be rewritten when it grows.

Content bundles
Not only dials and buttons. Things worth reading, too.
A catalogue, an exhibition, a manual, a menu, a season of programming. A bundle carries its own pictures, text and typography — and it opens the same way anywhere, offline included.
Made to be read. Real layout, real type — not a form in disguise.
Works with the lights off. Cached on the device, updated when it can reach home.
Reading turns into doing. The same page that shows the dish can take the order.
Issue 04 · AutumnThe whole-grain issue
Seven bakers, one grain mill, and the argument about hydration that has been running since 1994. Photographs from the mill floor at 4am.
